Antenatal Physiotherapy
Around 1 in 5 women will develop Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP) during pregnancy. Symptoms can arise at any stage of pregnancy and lead to pain in the groin region, lower back or hips. Walking can become uncomfortable and it can create difficulties with dressing, climbing stairs and driving. Early diagnosis and treatment can help to stop symptoms worsening and relieve current pain.
Our Physiotherapy team at ReformPhysio & Pilates have specialist postgraduate training in the assessment and treatment of Antenatal and Postnatal musculoskeletal (bone/muscle) conditions. We can also assess and treat pelvic floor dysfunction during pregnancy such as incontinence or prolapse.
Following a thorough assessment we may offer treatments such as:
Manual therapy for PGP
Soft tissue massage
Advice on activity modification
Personalised exercise programmes
Recommendations for back/pelvic/bump supports.
