International Day of happiness

Happiness has been recognised as so important to us all that the United Nations have designated March 20th as International day of happiness.

Our happiness has a significant bearing on our physical health & we know lots of you come to our classes or appointments to improve your physical & mental health.

With this in mind, we thought today would be a good time to share a simple tip to help improve your happiness and a simple thing you can all do to improve our Team’s happiness.

How can you improve your happiness?

Writing at bedtime, particularly jotting down three things that made you happy during the day, offers several benefits:

  1. Reflection and Gratitude: It provides an opportunity to reflect on the positive aspects of the day and cultivate a sense of gratitude. By focusing on moments of happiness, it encourages a more optimistic mindset and helps in appreciating life's simple joys.

  2. Stress Reduction and Relaxation: Engaging in reflective writing before bed can help alleviate stress and promote relaxation. It allows you to unwind by shifting your focus from any worries or anxieties to positive experiences, which can improve sleep quality and overall well-being.

  3. Memory Enhancement: Regularly documenting moments of happiness strengthens memory recall. Writing about joyful events reinforces neural pathways associated with positive emotions, making it easier to recall them in the future. This practice enhances overall cognitive function and fosters a more positive outlook on life.

How can you improve our Happiness?

As we said above, we know lots of you feel real benefits of exercise to your mental health and love our classes for this reason.

We also really value the mental health of our Physiotherapy and Pilates teaching team. For that reason we would love to ask you to arrive for your class or appointment no more than 5 minutes before it’s scheduled time.

We use this time to:

  • Prepare for your arrival (we are always cleaning/tidying!)

  • Drink some water

  • Go to the toilet

  • Breathe

When you work with people all day, talking, listening and encouraging whether as a Physiotherapist, massage therapist or Pilates Instructor it can be amazing to snatch just 5 minutes of alone time in your schedule.

We promise you that we are nicer people for these small breaks.

Thanks so much for understanding and we hope you have a brilliantly happy day.
